Meet the Doctors
Elliot M. Kirstein, OD, FAAO

Dr. Kirstein received his doctorate from the
Massachusetts College of Optometry in 1976
and is the founder and director of Harper’s
Point Eye Associates. He is a member of the
American Optometric Association, the Association
of Vision Research in Ophthalmology, the National
Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Contact
Lens Section of the AOA. Dr. Kirstein is a fellow of
the American Academy of Optometry and a member
of the Optometric Glaucoma Society, the Ocular
Surface Disease Society of Optometry and the
National Glaucoma Society. He is a co-managing
doctor for cataract and laser refractive surgery
at the Midwest Eye Center. Dr. Kirstein has written
several scientific articles, which have been published
in professional journals. He has lectured and written
on topics such as glaucoma management, visual field
analysis, contact lenses and computer integration of
medical eye care. He was an investigator for the
United States Food and Drug Administration in the
1970’s, during the early development of soft contact
lenses. He has served as the glaucoma consultant for
Paradigm Medical Industries, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He now serves on the Speakers Alliance for Alcon
Laboratories, Allergan Inc., Inspire Inc., Pfizer Inc.
and Heidelberg Engineering. He is the United
States glaucoma research coordinator and Pascal
Sales Director for Ziemer Ophthalmology, AG,
Switzerland. Currently, he is participating in glaucoma
research projects at Johns Hopkins University, New
York Eye & Ear Infirmary, Ohio State University,
College of Medicine, Indiana University, College of
Optometry, State University of New York, College
of Optometry and The Ohio State University, College
of Optometry. He is a fourteen time recipient of the
American Optometric Association Optometric
Recognition award and is now in his 33rd year of practice.
Todd A. Zelczak, OD, FAAO
Dr. Zelczak received his doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, in Philadelphia, in 1992 and completed his residency in Primary medical eye care from The Eye institute in Philadelphia in 1993. Dr. Zelczak is a member of The American Optometric Association as well as The Contact Lens Section of the AOA. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is a co-managing doctor for cataract and laser refractive surgery at the at the Midwest Eye Center. He is a five- time recipient of the Optometric Recognition Award and has lectured and written articles on several ocular disease topics, including normotensive glaucoma and ocular neurology. Additionally, he has worked as a clinical associate at the Cincinnati Eye Institute and at the Midwest Eye Center.
Ralph R. Lim, D.O.

Dr. Ralph R. Lim is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. He comes to Harper’s Point Eye Associates after a distinguished twelve year career in the US Air Force. He served as the Director of Ophthalmology Services at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio where he specialized in cataract and corneal refractive surgery. Dr. Lim also medically and surgically treats eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, strabismus, retinal diseases and facial plastics. Dr. Lim received both his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Sciences at the University of California, Irvine in 1991. He later attained his medical training at the University of Health Sciences, Kansas City, Missouri in 1997. After internship at Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Lim served his country as a Flight Surgeon at Wright Patterson Air Base for three years where he flew numerous missions with the 47th Air Lift Flight and the 178th Fighter Squadron, Springfield, Ohio. Dr. Lim completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the prestigious Doheny Eye Institute – University of Southern California in 2004, and received his corneal refractive training at the US Naval Refractive Surgery Center in San Diego, CA. Dr. Lim was also deployed to Iraq where he served as Ophthalmology Theater Consultant and member of the Head and Neck Trauma team in 2008.
David M. Schneider, MD
David M. Schneider, M.D. is the founding Lasik eye surgeon of the Midwest EyeCenter. Currently licensed in Ohio, California, Kentucky and Hawaii, Dr. Schneider is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California in 1968 and his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1975. Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Schneider completed his internship, residency training and fellowship program in ophthalmology. Current memberships include the Cincinnati Academy of Medicine, the American Association of Ophthalmology, the Ohio State Medical Association, the International Society of Refractive Keratoplasty, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Society for Excellence in Eye Care (SEE) and the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society. Experienced Surgeon Dr. Schneider has been directly involved in the development of the technology and procedures for Lasik eye surgeon’s in Cincinnati, Ohio for more than 20 years. Dr. Schneider and his staff of laser eye surgeons Cincinnati, Ohio have performed more than 50,000 vision correction procedures.
